JONI DEAR, My name is Jim Glazier, from 4308 42 AVE. #20 Rock MTN.. House Alberta, Canada . And I need the help of someone with great influence over people and the resources to convince people they can protect there property. I am not trying to get a hand out, but perhaps some kind of business venture where we both can make money. I have been interested in vehicle security since 1997. I get sick when I hear of peoples property stolen , damaged , and even lives lost from such a preventable problem as car theft. I have looked at many vehicle security devices and there weakness, and endeavored to build a device that is easy to install and also user friendly, and very difficult to remove. I have built prototypes, and have used one on my vehicle for three years even in big cities, and always felt comfortable that my car would always be there where I parked it. I also installed one on an old truck in an auto wreaker and it took three big men 4min. 56 seconds to remove it, only by braking the floorboard because of too ridged a base. This has since been redesigned to be flexible. It was encouraging to see one person could not remove it. It is loose enough installed, that it cannot be cut with a hacksaw, since it is made with good strong steel. The lock cannot be frozen because it is incased with steel and a small air space. These men ! tried with hammers and feet to remove it and only exhausted themselves. Since joy rides and theft of vehicles for the purpose of committing a crime are the main reasons for general auto theft, I know this will be a very good and secure type of vehicle theft deterrent. I have a U.S. patent and applied for an international patent with the help of a company in Ireland, who have done up for me a confidential research report, on North America, and Europe and are at this time trying to find manufactures all around the world that would be interested in building this device that I call "Brake Lock. There is some simple electronics that serve as a trade mark, as well as takes care of the brake light problem. I recently have had interest from England and Illinois and hope to get a positive response from them. Auto theft is a huge problem everywhere. I know it will make a difference. But it will only make a difference if people will use it. Dear Joni Mitchell In a way i feel foolish to write you this way, I don´t know if you get this mail at all, or get so many that you may not have time to read them all? But if you do, I´ll try anyway. You have been inspirering me a lot, I'm very thankfull. I sometimes find myself in a hard struggle as a songwriter, becaus for me it is a way to live, to breathe. And music is an answer to how I feel. Right now I have some voiceproblems becaus of overdoing I think. I feel it hard to learn how to give yourself, but not too much, and find that balance. Have you ever had any problems like that ? Can you give me any atvice, tell me what makes it work for you - how to give and still not give too much ? I guess it is a lifelong prosses to learn that, still I will be greatfull if you would be so nice to tell me how you keep that balance. I recently read your friend's article in a magazine. Very nice article about you and her.
I sang in the cellar club in the 1970's ( I auditioned and got offered a gig there), but the best thing about it was that it was where you once sang. I went to the veterinary college in Saskatoon from 1973 to 1977.
Have seen you once in the late 60's or very early 70's at the Colliseum in Vancouver, when James Taylor (your beau at the time) opened for you.
Happy that things appear to be good for you. I truly enjory all your music and like what I see of your artwork ( I remember the Mendel Art Gallery and the Bessborough Hotel well)

Being only 16 years old, I unfortunately missed out on seeing your music grow the first time round, and in "Rock - the rough guide" it is written "that it is doubtful that Joni Mitchell will ever connect with a generation in the way that she did in the early 1970's - even more doubtful that she would want to try". However, I just wanted to say, that whether wanting to or not, what you say and what you sing have as much impact on my generation, as any great writer would. Thank you so much for years of beautiful and inspiring music. Although I've only been alive for 17 years, I've grown up listening to your voice for as long as i can remember and i really do believe that your music has helped me become the kind of person i am today. Tho im by no means as good a guitar player as yourself, your music has touched me so that at the age of 10 i taught myself to play the guitar and actually spent hours trying to figure out the tunings and i did for most of them! But your music definitely brought out the more musical side to my soul.
